Need to replace broken onboard video

A friend literally yanked the VGA plug off the motherboard.
The particular motherboard's specs can be found here.
It states it's PCIe x16, but I don't know if it's v1, 2, or what.
What card can I get (preferably one that doesn't need power from the PSU as I haven't looked to see if has that) that is comparable to the former onboard?

yes.

2.0 is technically backwards compatible to 1.0.
ive only ever heard of a couple crappy via based mobos that have problems with it. any mobo that meets the 1.0 specs 100% will work with a 2.0 card.
 
The PCI-E 2.0 and 2.1 cards I've tried have always worked with the PCI-E 1.0 or 1.1 mobos, but I got a scare with a couple of ECS Nvidia-based mobos because a Radeon 5450 card would show no video for the first 20 seconds after boot.
