I am in desperate need on a new harddrive/s (kind of saving up), my current Seagate 80GB ide is crapping out (wierd noises, wont boot in windows etc etc). What I want to know is if I buy a brand new 250GB Sata harddrive would I be able to copy on that's on the 80GB over to the 250gb without reinstalling every single program I have on it?(Games and applications)

Also kind of the same thing, if I had an 500GB drive full of Games (old and new) and lets say the main HD craps out for some reason, how would I keep all the games on it from needing a reinstall (hope that sounds right).

I believe with Ghost you'd be able to copy everything, but Windows wouldn't deal with the change of controller for the boot volume. So you might have to do a repair installation to fix that. I could be wrong, though.
