hey guys need some help

here it goes....
winxp
asus mini motherboard
amd 2400

all i did was unplug my computer and move it to another location. when i went to start it up everything loaded fine. my motherboard read my vid card, geforce 5600 fx ultra. when the win xp splash loads and finishes, my monitor goes blank and my vid card fan stops. i get a display of "no input signal" something like that....

i have done the following

-checked PCI card fitment (reinstalled over and over)
-uninstalled geforce software from device manager
-the integrated vid supply works fine (using that now)
-checked power supply
-WTF
-my bios settings even read to use the PCI slot as a primary for vid output.
worked fine an hour ago, but now that ive moved my comp it isnt reading my vid card after the winxp splash

thanks for any input

Press F8 to boot into safe mode. If that works it's almost certainly a driver that's buggered up somewhere, but at least you'll be able to check it out further from within XP.

If you've moved it, how far did it go? Did it get bounced around in a car... the card could be damged :( . How is the onboard video disabled? If it requires a jumper (highly unlikely these days) has that come adrift?

Other than that it does sound as if the drivers could be at fault. Get the Detonator Destroyer from www.guru3d.com . Then try again with a driver reinstall.

Just had a thought... Is the monitor capable of displaying the refresh rate of the current resolution? Maybe the refresh rate is a tad too high. Lower it in display properties in Safe Mode and it should carry over to normal mode.
