I'm looking for a new motherboard that supports sli, either for a 1900xt, or 2 evga 7800gt's.

I will be air cooling my stystem, with a BIG typhoon heatsinka nd fan, so the placement of things may be a problem.

I was debating between these two:

Msi K8N Diamond SLI:

ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe:

I've read revjiews on both boards, and kind of leaning towards the ASUS be cause of the extra pci slot it has. I need to know WTF is the purpose of a pci-4x slot (what goes in there?!?!) and what one would you suggest, if you have had experience with either. The board will be used for a healthy bit of overclocking, but I need Stability first and foremost.

On a side note, im sure everyone here would recommend a single x1900xt on this board rather than 2 nvidia 7800gt's in sli correct?

Thanks!

Also this board will be run with xtreem BH-5 memory chips as well as a 4000+ san diego cpu.

x1900 is CrossFire, not SLI. If you want SLI, you're going to be using nVidia cards.

That settles that, so what mobo should i be using to complete all my needs as well as supporting crossfire?

might want to wait until ATI comes up with their new chipset(march or so)cause the one thats out now is total crap for stability
