Need some speaker suggestions

Looking to upgrade my computer speakers and i need some suggestions. Basically need 2.1 setup (5.1 is ok too) that both digital and analog inputs. Price wise i was looking to spend ~ $300 +/- $100 but obviously i prefer to spend less.
I was looking to stay away from the receiver route just because of space but i will still keep an open mind if thats the best /cost effective way
