ok i have a amd 64 3700+ at 2.2 and ive overclocked it on water stable to 2.8 and i know i can go farther and i have went all the way to 3.0 stable.... i had it on 3.0 stable ran all the test and everything but then i turned it off one night and turned it back on the next morning and it started booting up and came to an error saying it was missing the windows system config file and couldnt reboot.. so i tried to repair and didnt work. so i reinstalled everything ,, updated and overclocked to 2.9 and ran good and i restarted again not changing anything and came up to the same error... i thought it might be my hard drive but it does fine on lower overclocks???? what do i do?? has anyone had this problem. Anyone know what it is?? Thanks

Hmm, sure your not overclocking your ram too high? That always likes to do weird things to windows installs.

I believe it's the tras setting that likes to kill your windows install. Check to see it's not too far off of stock.

Are you running 'Ders on a RAID? Little CPU problems that might not flag as "instable" can really jar the XOR logic of a disk controller and ream Windows, especially when your PSU and other power infrastructure isn't warmed up, when you're potentially more likely to have voltage irregularities.

This I know from experience.

I agree with the above...probably the ram...bad ram timings=fubar windows. You can eliminate the HD relatively easily...go grab a copy of DFT (Drive Fitness Test) or if you like your particular manufacturers HD test and test it...should only take a few hours.
