What is the point of this post? That list really doesn't mean anything to me. What kind of memory are you talking about? Why do we need to know every memory company?

I think this is more of '42 channels you can watch on tv'. Interesting, but it doesn't really mean anything without some kind of context.

this is just basically there to give out some new brands of memory (say a newbie doesnt know a kind of memory brand out there to get. he just has to look at this list and then ask about it)

That's interesting. However, the majority of people will go with a few specific brands. And when people ask, they generally ask for either a) what is the best brand of RAM? or b) what is a good value RAM? Well to either of these questions, I can really only think of about 10 AT MOST. But, maybe someone else likes this and will benefit from it. I just think it might be a tad unecessary. Just my 2 cents.

more to the point
what the hell is this doing in data storage?

I know those arent all compatible with a SSD SDRAM card
even if it did have battery backup

the Memory FAQ is in General Hardware
(where that list might have some utility, but Id format it so that it didnt takeup 12 inches first)

a lock and nose dive
