Need some input...

So I bought myself a new mobo from newegg as I am going to upgrade my CPU to AM3 soon. Now, it's a crossfire board and I'm really tempted to get either second HD4850 or HD4870 (They are pretty much at the same price) Is this a wise choice? Or should I go with HD6850?

I'd say get a 6850 (or 6870 if you want to spend a little extra) then grab a second down the road.
