Need some info/feedback about monitors

Hi,
I am looking to buy a new 24/27 inch monitor and I am looking for some advice info. I am looking for a VA/IPS-PLS panel monitor. I am looking to spend around $200-$300 for this monitor.

The main uses for the monitor are: 1) watching online movies/sports (Hule,netflix,espn etc).
2) Games: Play RTS, RPG games mostly. some FPS games
3) Reading & browsing.
I would like the monitor to have 1 hdmi port at the least.( So I can connect my PS3)

The models I have considered are

BenQ GW2760HS: Pros:- Very cheap, 27inch, Good contrast, good response times, flicker free.
Cons:- No height adjust, portrait mode.

Dell P2414H or P2714H : Pros:- IPS panel, Good contrast and response times, height and pivot stand,xtra usb 2.0 ports,24" flicker free
Cons:- Panel Lottery,(this is my main concern with Dell Panels. their quality varies greatly between monitors), no overdrive adjustments. 27" model not flicker free., no HDMI ports.

Dell U2414H: has hdmi port and I think it is almost same as the p2414H model. but has issues with the DP port ( checked dell forums and seems still not fixed)

My personal experience with dell is one can get great panels or very crappy ones depending on luck. Dell Customer service is good about exchanging panels. I have no experience with BenQ panels or their customer service.

If any one has suggestions about different panels/models please do. I live in US, so please take it into account when suggesting brands/models.

Dell U2414H is a good monitor. It does have the Display port issue, but if you use the HDMI input you should be fine. It also has 6 mm bezel which is world's smallest bezel (without debezeling). It has great colors (saw live multiple models) and the design is very good. For a single/double monitor setup I would definitely go for this one.

In terms of performance/quality Samsung S24D590PL / S27D590PLX is in the same area (personal opinion after comparing these monitors). It is also cheaper. However you don't have the option of height adjust or portrait. In terms of design, it looks sharp (9.5 mm bezel). Some people said that the stand is not very stable (some even complained that the monitor moves when you type). I have 2 of them at home and don't have this problem; and I am not particularly soft when typing.

At this point these two are, from my research, the best that you can get in terms of price/quality/performance.

If you put great value on the response time (FPS gamming), then you can look at ASUS portfolio. However, they are TN panels (as apposed to the above 2 - IPS/PLS). Most people would go for rich colors over fast response time.

Some speculation is that LG uses similar panels as Samsung and you could get it for lower price. I haven't seen one so I cannot judge. Also the Samsung warranty / support seems to be better.

I would go for DELL. If you have any issues just return it. From my experience the return policy of DELL is exceptional.

I am leaning towards the Dell, but Ive decided to wait a couple of more weeks to see if the new samsung monitors or the foriss monitors are priced anywhere close to my budget.
