my sister is going to a concert and she needs a camera, she wants to be able to see the pic before she takes it because last time she took a film camera and all the pictures blew.

she also wants alot of zoom, she is like 3 or 4 rows from the stage and wants to get some good pics.

what should i get?

price range is 200ish..

Canon powershot

that one has only 2.2x optical zoom... if you want kickass zoom u might want to think about getting olympus c700 series... i like olympus C-740 but it might be out of your price range...

good luck tho :)

the powershot series is nice, but i must say it might be difficult for her to take a lot of high quality shots at a concert, unless it is outdoors durring the day or something.. normally concerts are very dark, and normally you are to far away from the stage to be able to use a flash properly, so its tough...

i would agree with the above recomendation :)

The Canon S1 IS might get it done. The image stabilized lens would help in low light, and it has a 10x optical zoom.

that camera costs twice as much as the user wants to spend.

I took that with a Fuji 2800zoom, which has been superseeded, but you could get something as good for a similar price. A good zoom helps (mine has 6x optical), and manual controls, or otherwise i got that and other photos by setting the flash on (for a high shutter speed), and then taking the picture with my hand over the flash. :)
