I've read and serach for many hours. Need some help on picking the right componets for my setup.

I want to run two loops. One for the i7 965 extreme CPU and SB/chipset and one just for my 4870x2 cards.

1) So I need two pumps, two rads & two reserves correct?

2) What size tube/fitting is adaquate?

3)Can someone recommend a good i7 waterblock?
4)Can someone recommend a good 4870x2 FC waterblock?
5)Can someone recommend 2 good radiators? (i have room for two triple 120s ((Overkill???), i keep hearing Feser)
5)Can someone recommend 2 pumps for the job?

I'm not loaded with cash but want to do the job right the first time.
 
1) Yes
2) 1/2 is usually recommended due to best performance but 3/8 can be easier to work with
3) Swiftech GTZ with 1366 adapter
4) The XSPC is pretty good I heard, the EK one is good as well but pricey
5) 2x Triple's are not overkill. They are actually what you would want. 2x Thermochill/Feser/XSPC RX 360's would be great
6) MCP355 + XSPC or EK res top's (save's room) for the CPU/chipset loop. D5 Vario with a custom top if you wish for the 4870x2s.


This will be expensive.

the MCR320's might be enough since you're using seperate loops. they're pretty cheap and effective.

GTZ seems to be a very popular cpu block

if you're on a budget you could probably use a single loop with the dual rads and maybe just not cool the sb/chipset. pump>rad>cpu>rad>gpu>res

as you will soon find out there are lots of options out there. as for sites to search on here's a start.

sidenote...use worm clamps or compression fittings and not herbie clips. the herbies are so hard to remove which makes working on stuff a huge pain.
 
Absolutely no need to use a triple radiator for your CPU. A double radiator is more than fine, even with slower fans. I'd get a double Swiftech MCR for the CPU/NB.

But, those 4870X2's will need at least a triple Fesser/Thermochill rad. So, Get a double, and a triple.

For your pumps, you can use whatever you want really. The MCP655 is the most reliable, the DDC+ with a top is the most expensive... but it's the most "powerful." Since you're using double loops, even a weaker pump, like the Danger Den CPX pro would be fine for both loops (although, arguably, it's a very powerful pump in and of it's own right).
 
Thanks guys for the help. I'll be buying my parts today. What is the recommendation for coolant/additives for a minimal maintenace system. I am not into the uv dyes and fancy colors fluids. Is deionized water the way to go?
 
deionized/distilled/medical grade water + some pure silver or PTnuke is the way to go.
 
Any tips on fans for the triple Fezer? Sandwich, push, or pull? Fans will be going to a fan controller. Low Noise is NOT top priority.
