I installed my new 6800 in my Abit IT7 with intel 845E chipset, Win XP Pro. I looked at the device manager and noticed that it's "location" is PCI bus 1, device 0, function 0. Shouldn't this be AGP? It is also on IRQ 5, which is shared by two USB controllers. I installed the intel chipset inf for AGP and it didn't make a difference. Any ideas?

I'm trying to fix my performance problems with HL2. It seems to stutter whenever it has to load a new texture. When I choose high quality textures, it stutters even more. It also stutters in Doom 3 demo. I've got the latest Nvidia drivers and XP is up to date too.

Try using the 61.77 drivers and set sound optomization ingame to headfones or 2 speakers.

There have been many posts about this. It's actually kind of funny, anyways this is how you fix it.

Update your Intel chipset drivers, or AMD accordingly. I had the same problem with my 6800 GT. It displayed as PCI x0 and as soon as I updated my chipset drivers it was displayed as AGP 8x.

I did install the Intel INF chipset utility and I am also using the latest NVIDIA drivers 67.02. I have also been using the 2 speaker mode and it didn't help.

Really, try 61.77.

Or maby the 66.93 Drivers, other then that you could try updating your motherboard or Downloading Coolbits, and seeing what it has to say.
