I just recently installed Fedora 9 onto my laptop and was wanting to change the theme and appearance. I was wanting to know of a custom way to change it or if there was a place out there beside deviant art that might have some that I can get. I dont like the appearance or themes that came with the OS. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it.

yea... are you using gnome or kde? gnome is pretty limited in it's theming capabilities, kde you can do anything and everything if you dig around enough. for kde you can look around in kcontrol or systemsettings (depending on which fedora ships with), and for gnome i think everything is in System>Preferences>

Sorry bout that. Its gnome but I downloaded the dvd version off the website. Is there a way I can change it to kde or would I need to reformat? Sorry for being such a noob to this. I am tryin to learn lol. I am goin to try out this one and then try out some other linux OS.

gnome is plenty-themable...

and if you really want to try kde you don't need a re-install, just go an install it from yum (yum install kde maybe) and choose it as the desktop session from the login manager (GDM)

I wouldnt bother with KDE on fedora 9 the only version they have in the repos is 4+.

Wow. I compare gnome to kde 3.x and like a genius you pull a kde 4 comparison out of your ass.

Pure genius.

"Plenty" depends on who your asking.
