Need some help selecting memory

I'm gonna piggy back here too and not start a new thread. Most threads are asking for good memory to OC, which I'm not going to do. Is low latency the thing to look for? I have 1 gb Corsair 3200 XL Pro 2-2-2-5 now and want to get 2 gb. I've heard I should just buy 2 gb outright instead of buying and extra gb for what I have. If this is true I need some recommendations also.

The more I look around that G. Skill looks pretty good, and would have been cheaper than 1 gb of my Corsair. Now I have to add about $32 to the price of all the memory to cover restocking, but I still might go with the G. Skill

The G-Skill memory listed has been discontinued on their site. They have new version
out not sure which is better.
I need some memory as well and saw this but I am not sure about why it was discontinued and replaced with a new model with exact specs.

probably just tweaked something that required a new model number? since i'm kindy busy (;)) can you provide a link to the new model at g.skill's website?

the newegg model is F1-3200PHU2-2GBZX
the g-skill model is F1-3200BIU2-2GBHX

wow they changed the site and the new memory on their site is
F1-3200PHU2-2GBZX
which is what newegg is listing.

ahhhhhhhh I hate memory sites

so newegg has the newest one by their site today

and its $214

haha, maybe a typo? either way, that g.skill gets my vote. even if it has the chance of being discontinued, it's in stock now and that's what matters :D

bought the G. Skill, working fine. Haven't run tests but so far so good. Set latency to 2 in BIOS with 1T.
