Well if your reading this thank you for coming here, now onto what i was going to say. I have PCI Ge-Force Fx5200 full spec's can be found here Ge-Force
I am currently trying to oc this, but my question how far should i go. Right now i have the stock hsf on it and a slot fan under it.

Thats the current speed of it, how far should i go :D

Hmm, I never oc'd my agp 5200, and you dont have a temperature sensor on yours. Id say to look at what other people have achived with similar cooling, and try putting it near the levels they have.
Have you done ocing before? If not, just remember to go slowing, upping frequencies by a few mhz at a time, and run 3D '01 or a couple games to test for stability. If you have a temperature sensor or even just an old thermometer, try putting it close the its heatsink when your'e really loading it (which isnt too hard  ) and compare that temperature with the rest of your case/mobo, if that lets you check its temp.

Ohh i was going to do a 100mhz increase on it :p Ive done a lil' oc'ing on my amd athlon xp 2200+ when i had it. Thermometer well i need to find one

Well i used auto-detect, it tested each increase as it went until it came to these clock speeds. Hopefully auto-detect isnt pulling something funny with me, im going to go try this on doom3, to see if we're stable at these speeds

Doom3 is alright, but the sound is looping i have not been able to solve this problem since it began

lol i had my gainward fx5200 ultra golden sample (was on fx5600 ultra pcb) 325/650 to 375/740 and it never exceeded 52*C

auto detect puts you into the "ballpark range" so youll still need to do some testing to see how high you can get the card without artifacts. also a temperature probe is not needed.

as for the sound looping problem did this start happening when you overclocked?
