First off- this is my first post. Cool site by the way, was reaserching monitors and found y'all.

So I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron notebook(11 weeks ago).with a Radeon X1400 256mb video card VGA. I've been playing WoW for a few months and recently saw it in widescreen mode on a dell 20.1 at someone's place and instantly got jealous. I forget what the large screen has to offer a Pc over laptop. although i have a great screen on my laptop i would like a bigger display. I've been researching but havent found answers to the right questions.

When plugged my laptop into this 20.1 monitor it automatically resized the screen, do i have to change the settigns on my computer for that to affect differant games? WoW looked Gorgeous at 20.1 and i am thinking about going up to the 2407A04. Would there be any differance if i did that? 20.1Vs. 24.

This Screen is mountable on an extendable arm right? does anyone use one with the weighty 24 incher(recomendations)? I'd like it to mount to a desk and be able to telelscope out for dvds or something like that. oh yeah, does that Drill into the desk? or clamp on?

Does anyone who has their laptop working with a beefy monitor have recomendations?
Games look Kick in Widescreen even on my 15inch laptop.
If there is some oversight about Laptops and displays that i've neglected please clue me in. when my laptop craps out i'll go to a Pc again, my fiance has a MacbookPro so we'll not need another laptop for many years.

The 2407WFP is just going to come with a regular stand, but it's got a standard VESA-compatible mount so if you were to purchase a desk arm, wall mount, etc, the monitor would mount right up. The Ergotron arms are very popular but I don't know much about the exact specs or if they will support a 24" screen so you may want to Google for it.

As for your settings question, I'm really not all that sure what you're asking. Maybe you can rephrase it? I assume you're talking about resolutions, but I seem to have lost you after that.

I'm not even sure if your X1400 can run WoW smoothly on a 20.1" screen on its native resolution.
