making this simple as possible...

my front mic and headphone jacks on the front of my computer are messed up....

i have audio ports on my mobo(asus-a8n-e) how can i use them instead?

or should i just get a sound card?

Hi there ... yeah mine are too (the front jacks)

Anyway, if you're using onboard, there should be jacks on the back of the case.

Sound card really depends - how's the onboard, what are your main audio requirements. You looking for gaming, music, voice chat ... *shrug* I'm a sound card person, personally. BUT that's mainly because I do online DJ'ing and the onboard sound with the broadcaster is horrific.

well i tried the jacks on my mobo but i dont get anything.

i just listen to music and play games..

Did you look in your driver device to see if you're missing any drivers? If there's a problem there'd be that ? or X under Sound.

Either that or the onboard sound decided to take a dive. If that's the case, you will need to get a sound card. Choices are mostly either internal - PCI and PCI-E or external USB/Firewire
