Hi all! I just received the last couple pieces for my 2P build today... the CPUs. But I seem to have run into a wall and need a second opinion from you other tech gurus (particularly other owners of KGPE-D16 boards).
I so just installed the CPUs into the KGPE-D16 board I have and on boot up, it reports DIMM_H2 is bad. I tried the usual swapping of DIMMs twice after that, all with the same result. I even swapped the 4 DIMMs from CPU1 into CPU2 and still I get the error saying DIMM_H2 is bad. I removed a couple sticks from each bank so DIMM_H2 is not populated, and now the system boots no problems. About the only setting in the BIOS I touched relating to memory was to turn off ECC.
I'm using 2 sets of that G.Skill CL7 1333MHz 8GB quad channel memory in my system since it seems everyone else is having no issues with it. I have not gone through the trouble of doing a complete Memtest particularly because I'm almost convinced it's not the memory considering that out of the 8 DIMMs I have, the 4 of them I tried in that slot worked fine in other slots and the board also boots fine without that slot populated.
So, is there some quirk to these boards or is it just possible I have a dud? I'm still within the window for return but I thought I'd just ask first in case there's something I haven't tried yet before going through the RMA process.
Any help or info is appreciated.
