Hi,
I'm currently in the market for a new case. I have a Lian-Li PC65 with the factory window and am looking for a change. From reading posts, I know a lot of you swear by Lian-Li... I love the case, but for as much as I work on my machine and for as much that's in the case, I need something less cumbersome.
Anyhoo.. to the point.
I've been looking at the Chieftec Matrix and Dragon cases and thier clones. I'm noticing that these are made both in aluminum and in steel. I;ve also been looking at what they call a full tower. My confusion comes in two areas.
First off, steel and aluminum. After using the Lian-Li case, I'm sold on aluminum. But, since the local CompUSSR doesn't carry these cases in aluminum, I'm forced to purchase online. When I visit various online retailers though, the pics they have of their "aluminum" cases look like they're made of steel. Does an aluminum Chieftec case only mean it has aluminum sides? or is it all aluminum like the Lian-Li case? So far I've only seen one pic over at newegg that would indicate that the frame itself is made from aluminum, all the rest look like steel. Could this be simply an issue of retailers using a generic picture to show similar cases?
Secondly, full-tower vs mid-tower. Over at Chieftec's website, they show a true full-tower Matrix and Dragon case (14 bays). At any retailer I've gone to, they call the mid-tower (10 bays) a full-tower. Does Chieftec in fact make a 14 bay version of these cases?
Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't seem to get reliable information from the retailers, and Chieftec's website seems a bit sparse for information. I'm curious if I could get some of you who use these cases to post pics of them, along with model numbers and where you got them?
I want to buy a Matrix or Dragon, but I need a full-tower, and I'd really prefer to have aluminum construction... but I also don't want to buy something to find out after shipping and everything that I ordered the wrong item.
Also, to the users of these cases, how do you guys find the noise level with these things? Are they easy as easy to work in as they look?
Any help that anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for yoru time.
