Hi everyone,I just joined this forum because im lost and need some help.

I have a P55 motherboard and an 860 CPU and have crossfire 5870s..I was told it would be better for me to switch to just one GTX 580 instead of the 5870s.I was told i would get better performance out of the one card, now im new to all this and am not sure what to do here..My son uses this computer for games and he wants a GTX 580..Would it be a good Christmas gift for him or a waste of money?

Thank You in advance..

Still thinking about shelling for that 580? Your upgrade path is 480/580's in SLI.

Happy holidays and a good karma new year :D hope this helped in some way

I would keep your 5870s. crossfire 5870s beat a single gtx 580. Your pretty much wasting money.

OP: what mobo do you have? Most P55 mobo's will only do cf x8/x8 while others will only do x4/x4. This is something to take into consideration trying to compare 5870's in CF to a single gtx580
