Need software to undelete something!!!

Hey there...OK...I was having probs with my hdd and/or Windows...so I decided to reinstall Windows...now since my C partition is Windows and D partition is for installed progs only that means that C and D are connected via registry, shortcuts, and any other things that are installed to C that the prog installs...therefore I decided to delete and uninstall everything in my D partition since the stuff would be worthless with a new Windows...

so before I reinstalled Windows I started uninstalling stuff...two of the things were my Half-Life folder and my Office XP folder...there are two things that I forgot to backup...my wads for my HL maps and my Outlook Express files (I relocated where it stores them to my D partition)...

Now the D partition was never formated or anything...still the same...only C was formated...twice actually...now what's the BEST way for me to get these files back??? IS there a way??? I don't care if the software is/isn't free...what are the probabilities that I'll get them back if there is a way??? I got a 200 GB hdd...THANX

P.S.: I think I'll start a Pre-Format Checklist so I can check off the thing I want to backup...that way I won't leave anything behind...DAMN this pisses me off...how the HELL could I leave my email behind??? Maybe I should relocate where is stores them to my E partition...I comb thru that like I'm looking for a needle in a haystack when I have to format that partition...it'd be safer there...

You just bumped a 4+ year old thread (08-23-2004).
 
whilst is it revived, for anyone who needs this..

use file scavenger, by far the best file recovery software... AND it was available in 2004
