Okay guys. I am helping a friend select some components for his computer. I have been out of the loop for a while but last time I checked the E6400 just came out and people were getting awesome results ocing. This was several months ago and I obvisouly recommened it to him now.

ButI just went on newegg to double check and I see these new E4400 processors... hese weren't out before.

So whats the difference between these processors? They are cheaper...
Whats the difference between the E4400 and E6400 other an .1ghz. Am I missing something big here? If someone could give me a crash course on these cpus I would appreciate it. Thanks guys.
 
FSB is different.

4400 = 800MHz FSB
6400 =1066MHz FSB

4400 = Allendale core
6400 = Conroe core
 
the difference is what W6F0 poinst out to be. This means that you have now the FSB you can max out until the mobo doesn't allow you to go anymore cos on most of the mobo's today you can reach 500fsb which is 2000fsb in real terms comparing it with your E4400 CPU.

So you start at 800FSB and you can go to 2000fsb , now with the 1333FSB cpu,s this means they have very little overclocking room left cos they only have around 700FSB to play with ;)
