Alright. On the hunt for a SATA hard drive enclosure that outputs to USB2.0 or Firewire (pref. Firewire or both) that uses the Oxford 911 chipset. Going out shopping today, have three or four computer stores to go to, and can't seem to find anything. Not many of the stores' websites advertise chipsets so I was hoping I could get some quick help here. I've found some off brands (Plumax, Bytecc) but I don't think these retail stores will carry any of those. I'll go for prety much anything, just as long as it meets those requirements.
Seem to be a TON out there with IDE interfaces, but unfortunately that's not what I need. Have about 5 hours or so to figure out which would be a good one to look for. I've found a ton of promising ones, but no indication of chipset! Quite frustrating, and I don't think the employees at said stores would know much about what chipset their enclosures use.
If worse comes to worse, I can just newegg an enclosure, but some friends and I were planning to geek out tonight and need one of these.
Thanks SO much for any help!
