I'm looking to build a new desktop, but I'm not sure what kind of wattage I need, or what ones to look for. Here's what I'm planning:

Intel P965 mobo, hopefully the DFI P965-S if it comes in stock
Core 2 Duo E6600
2GB RAM
2 SATA 400-500GB HDs
1 DVD Burner
for the video card I'm planning on getting something when R600 is released, or I may just go with the 8800GTS 640MB.

I'm also planning on OCing it pretty high, probably with a Thermalright Ultra-120 Heatsink.

I was thinking that 550W may work, but I'm not sure. I want to have room to be able to use something like an 8800GTX if I want. I'm not concerned about powering SLI. I'd also like to stay around $100 if possible. Thanks for the input.

I found a Hiper 580W at newegg for $90. It gets good reviews there, but it's not a super well-known brand. I like the modular cables that it has, and the price is nice, but I don't want to get something that isn't enough for my system, or that I may have to replace down the road.

I also found the OCZ GameXStream 700W PSU at ZZF for $100 AR. It gets great reviews as well, but doesn't have the modular cables. Does anybody have any insight on this PSU?

Isn't Seasonic making those corsair psu's?

If so I'd say try to find one of those cheap.

It seems that Seasonic PSUs are more expensive than Corsair's. :p
