I am looking at building an external hard drive enclosure out of an old UPS unit I found at work. Its a big metal box, and cost me nothing.

I am in need of a power supply to supply 4 hard drives to put in this box, along with 2x 80mm fans

Now, I am figuring 3a on the 5v rail for each hard drive, that puts me in the 12a range for spin up. I use 3a being generous. I figure the fans will use 1a on the 12v line, and 4a for the hard drives, so, thats 5a there I need.

The case I have doesn't have a lot of room in it for a larger PSU, so, I'd like to keep it on the small size. Doing basic soldering doesn't bug me a lot either.

What sort of options do I have? I don't need much of anything else other then what I listed above.
