Need Printer Help - Canon MX850

I just bought this Canon MX850 so I can scan things for expense reports for work. Only problem is that it generates HUGE pdf files. I'm scanning a 3 page document of mostly text and it results in a 2-3mb pdf. I scan at 300dpi...should I try reducing that?

yeah run a lower DPI.. if its just text you can run it pretty low..

I will try that next time but it seems like 300dpi is pretty standard. The Xerox documentcenter at my work scans at like 600dpi and produces similar PDFs at like 300-400k.

Maybe it's just the Canon pdf converter that sucks.

its quite possible its the converter.. wouldnt be suprised if there was a hidden setting some where in the settings to make the file size smaller..
