Need Opinions

I've just acquired some cash, and I feel the need to order something for my PC, but I'm having a hard time.

I've been leaning back and forth between an eVGA 7900GT KO, and a Dell 2007FPW, which happen to be on sale right now. I can't afford both.

I realize DX10/G80/R600 is right around the corner, so I could always use step up for a G80, if they're even released within 90 days.. but I'm really digging that monitor. Would my 7800GT be up to the task? What kind of performance difference am I looking at going from my current 1280x1024, to 1680x1050?

You will really want a faster card to run at that res.
Some readers here bought SLI to run at or near that resolution.

Regarding DX10 and Vista:
If you want DX10 support you will be upgrading your graphics card.
I'm hopeful the monitor will be fine for High Definition film playback in Vista as the HDCP flag on the disks (for copy protection) isnt supposed to be turned on until year 2010. This means that the graphics card and monitor are likely not to need HDCP compliance.

So its catch 22, buy a graphics card that you will likely upgrade much sooner than the monitor or buy the monitor and not be able to play some games at its native res.
