So I decided to go with some OCing since I haven't done so in a while. Anyway, I started reading Eclipse's OC'ing guide, but I got a little stuck on the second part, where you overclock the CPU. At the first step, I put the HT multiplier at 3, the CPU multiplier at 5 and the ram at 100 mhz (1:2). I was able to get to 286 MHz before the comp reset. Now for the second step, all I was supposed to do is increase the cpu multi back to it's original setting right? Which would be 11x for a dual core XP 4200+?
Anyway, assuming that's what you do, I started windows, started two sets of prime95 on the small fft test, then started ramping up the fsb, and found I could only get to about 221 MHZ before the computer froze. I tried again, this time stopping any unnecessary programs in the background, and still got about 221MHz. My cpu temp isn't going about 40C, and the northbridge is about 46C. Is this the point at which I up the cpu voltage? Or do I reduce the ht multi to 2.5?
Thanks

So I figured it out by myself after doing a little experimenting, and i got a 2560 (270 x 9.5) oc on the 4200.
Anyway, it's stable in windows, but the odd problem is every other boot, it seems that the POST messes up. Either a random character will show up or it'll stop mid line. any ideas?
