My current power supply has a failing fan, so instead of replace the fan I figured I'd just replace the PSU with a quieter one.

Problem is I need something a little more powerful than what I had before, since my 640mb 8800gts probably pushes this unit close to the edge.

The 350 watt seasonic is out of stock at the Egg. I'm sure I could find one elsewhere, but what other reliable options are out there?

The 500W Athena PSU from Newegg. There's a link to it in the huge SG05 thread.

I've been wondering if it would be possible to use a dual PSU setup with the picoPSU as the primary PSU powering the motherboard/chipset/cpu etc. while the stock PSU gives juice to the GPU, hard drive and other peripherals. People have done this with massive atx cases before, for their high powered SLI/Crossfire rigs, so why not use it in the small scale as well since it would be easy to fit a pico PSU in there? All you would have to do is buy a dual PSU atx connector, and drill a whole in the case so you can keep the AC-DC connector outside.

Hm the SeaSonic SS-350SFE seems to be unavailable from a legit retailer.

Is that Athena the only choice now?

nexus 430 will fit with modification same as the seasonic 350 however you need a shorter heatsink such as big shuriken or go with watercooling.

i do have a seasonic 350 sfx i will be selling soon , has been modified to fit this case .

hugs

The Silverstone ST50EF-Plus-short cable edition is made for Silverstone SSF cases. I've hade one for two years and no problems.

Some info from Silverston's web site, but this power supply seems to be hard to find now.

Equipped with a new generation of design and components, the Element ST50EF-PLUS short cable edition continues SilverStone's stride toward more efficient power supplies for SFF and Micro ATX cases. With higher than 80% efficiency, the ST50EF-PLUS short cable edition produces less wasted heat than typical power supplies and allows the included 120mm fan to operate at very low speeds, ensuring quietness at all times. This stable output and efficient characteristics are packed inside an environmentally-friendly casing, with shorter cables designed to fit all SFF and Micro ATX casing on the market. If strong power for dual core/dual video card processing and quietness are the main priorities, the Element ST50EF-Plus short cable edition is the one you want for your case.

Special Feature
Shorter cables designed for SFF and Micro-ATX cases
Efficiency over 80% (20% to 100% loading)
Dual +12V rails for advanced systems
Dual PCI-E connectors (SLI & CrossFire ready)
Silent running 120mm fan
Support for ATX 12V 2.2
Active PFC

The Element ST50EF-PLUS won't fit the SG05
Size is:150 mm (W) x 86 mm (H) x 140 mm (D)
SFX PSU is:125 mm (W) x 63.5 mm (H) x 100 mm (D)
