I am debating what heatsink to buy for my e8500. Currently someone recommended me the new SPIN Q or the ZALMAN CNPS9500. I was looking at the HD1283 and thinking about that one? But will that one fit in my antec 300 case? any recommendation is welcome! thanks!

I highly recommend the 1283 for anything Dual-core, even the 65/45nm Quadcores.. I wouldn't put it on an I7 for serious OCing though.
It's cheap and works really well... do get the bolt-thru kit though, $5 + $2 shipping from sidewindercomputers.com
Should fit the 300 just fine.. maybe no fan on the sidepanel if you have one now

You need a case width of about 20cm+ to fit the xigmatek.
It works fine for quad cores or dual cores, don't know why the other poster is hinting it is a second rate cooler.

The 1283 is a great cooler, but the i7 chips run very hot. From what I've seen, for any serious OC on an i7 I'd go with either a push-pull setup on a Megahalems or TRUE, or water.
