My old Sennheiser headphones broke a few months ago and I've been searching for a replacement since. This time I think I'm going to want something a little more expensive, something a little more high-end. I have absolutely no idea what that is so I'm asking you guys. I'm trying to figure out right now if I should get some of those expensive Plantronics headsets or some other namebrand headphone. Help?
 
what is your price range, and what model sennheiser headphones did you have?

were you happy with the sound quality of the senns? or do you want to move into something that requires an external amp?
 
I'm not much of an audiophile so I don't really know what requires and amp and what the benefits of using an amp are. I can't remember what model they were but they were low-mid end and cost about $20 or $30. I thought they were pretty good. Right now I'm just thinking about getting the Plantronics .90 headset: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=26-106-009&depa=0

Anyone have any experience with those or any additional advice?

sennheiser will always be (significantly) better than plantronics. there is simply no comparison between the two in any sense of the word, other than they are both headphones and make sound.
 
or the sennheiser hd497 (i love mine, just ordered another pair as backup!)

sennheiser makes damn good headphones, and their prices are pretty low considering the quality of the sound they produce!
 
Dont bother with the Senn's. Go for Grado. They're the best and they even cost less. www.gradolabs.com The SR60's are fantastic for 80 dollars. You'd have to pay 200+ to get Senns that good. I've been big into audio for some time and they're the best I've ever heard for that price.
