Hey guys I'm nooby when it comes to this stuff and apologize for the wall of text but bear with me. Recently my dad and I have been getting kicked off games when we both play at the same time. He plays AoE Online and only when I play CoD:BO 2, BL2 or Far Cry 3 does the problem happen. We both have seperate PCs and seperate Steam Accounts. I am able to play Wot, GW2 and Saint Row 3 at the same time he does. I knw there are a bunch of articles about this but ive tried what i could. I've place both our computer seperatly and together in the routers DMZ. I've tried port forwording for steam all the game seperatley and together other than that i dont what to look for. I have a Netgear DIR-601. If I understand things correctly (that i've looked up) it's that both our puters are using the routers NAT and the games are requesting the same ports but the Nat can only send info to one pc at a time dropping packets to one computer to allow for the other. If this is the case is there a way to solve it? Would buying a new router help solve this any info would help alot!!
Any other info need let me know

NAT is smarter than that. If your router is configured correctly (ie, how it was when it came in the box) then it will not drop packets as you describe; this is because it dynamically assigns different ports on your public IP both your computers are sharing when you both use the same port on the network.

My guess is you have a port forward set up wrong and it's causing the trouble. I'd actually remove all static (manual) port forwards from the router and enable UPnP.

I have to agree with this. That Netgear should have UPnP on by default, but double check it. Basic home routers don't come with too many crazy features that should cause this sort of problem. You could also take a screen shot of your port forwarding menu and submit it here for review.

Steam shouldn't require any port forwarding, only if you're hosting local games. But if you're joining public game rooms you shouldn't need any port forwarding.
