I have just inherited an HP 6110 Officejet mf printer. However, the scanner element seems to be stuck and I cannot free it lose. I need to get into the glass and clear the jam out. I have tried to look for a technical document that will describe what size (allen) wrench to use to free up the screws. I have purchased both an ASE and a metric allen wrench and both do not seem to have the right size tool.

Can anyone help me figure out what to do next?
 
You were right! That was a T10 screw.

I was able to get into the scanner cavity and try to push the cathode housing to the far left and let it come back during the initialization. However, it is still not "seeing" that the housing is over to the far right and will continue trying to bring it over. The gears are hopping and eventually it fails the initialization test. Is there a sensor that tells it to stop that I can clean or reset?
 
Just throwing it out there...aren't those units cheap enough just to replace? I mean sure it's fun to tinker.... but hell :)
