I've been building computers most of my life, but they've always been fairly high end since I'm a gamer.

My parent's computer is still running on a 1.8GHZ Athlon single core processor with 1.5GB of DDR. They've had it for atleast 4 years or more.

They've asked me to build them a new system but I'm at a complete loss at what mobo/processor combo I should get them. My mom rips a lot of DVD's, but besides that all they do is the standard web browsing, iTunes, email, etc.

I was thinking a mobo with onboard sound/video would be a good way to go since they won't be gaming. Any suggestions people can offer as far as mobo/proc go would be appreciated.

I'd like to stick with Intel processors if possible.

I'm sorry, but that's not enough information for us to go on. Please answer the following questions:

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
3) Where do you live?
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
6) Will you be overclocking?
7) What size monitor do you have or plan to have?
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.

For your parents' needs, though, you may be better off by getting a prebuilt computer (from Dell, HP, etc.) that's on sale. In that case, you should also check out one (or more) of the following sites:

I agree, a prebuilt will be your best bang for buck if you find a good deal. This one isn't so bad:
