Need laptop advice

I am looking for a laptop for school for under $1,200

I was thinking about the HP Pavilion dv9000t cause of the 7600GO (for world of warcraft :D) 2 gigs of ram and core2duo and its just under 1,200 but its not very compact (kind of bulky)and also it comes with vista and I will be installing a bunch of software for my classes and I am afraid of conflicts with vista .........(plus I will partition for linux)

So any recommendations
 
I too was looking at the dv9000t, the dv2000t, and the dv6000t. My first choice would be the 2000t in terms of portability and performance, then the 6000t, followed by the 9000t as a powerhouse.

Matrix, your link to officemax seems broken?

And I don't know if I would be recommending Turion this day in age.... Intel has AMD beat nearly 3-1 in the mobile market for power and battery life.
