Hi all i want to ask, my friend want to buy a new system
Amd athlon 4200+ dual core
asus a8n sli
4xcorsair ddr400 cl.2
2xAsus geforce 7800gtx
creative sound blaster xfi
raptor 74gb
termaltake tsunami
hec 580w power supply

now he want to ask how many years the system can run games on 16*12 4aa 16af
and does this system good does the 2 asus is a good cards

Not more than 1 I'm betting, I doubt he could run FEAR at 16X12 with 4XAA 16XAF without lag. I see people struggling at 16X12 with ONE 7800GTX. But we can't look into the future ;)

That's kind of an outrageous question, but...

Most PC's have an average "sustaiability" in gaming for about 2 years. 3 if you're tolerant with not-so-max settings. Of course you never know... it's only recently that games started using complex shaders for effects, and it's really skyrocketed.

I'd suggest save an extra $500 on a GTX and instead buy ONE 512mb GTX, and when that one doesn't cut it in about a year, get a second one when they will be cheap.

A few tweaks and he could get more than 2 years. Instead of the motherboard your looking at, look into the Asus A8n32SLI with both Pci e slots running at 16X. Change both cards for EVGA 7800GTX 512mb cards when they come out. I believe these games will be playable at max settings with such a setup and the EVGA tradeup program is always there to take advantage of through the first calendar year. ;)

So to recap, different mobo and different videocards = 2years+ :D
