Ok , I have my BF2 set but my kid lost the book that came with it and that had the key code. I want to do a reformat soon and dont want to loose use of the game. Is there a game folder i can go to to obtain the code?
 
Probably somewhere in the registry, let me see...(ill post if i can find it but i bet some1 will beat me to it)
 
I think this could work. Good thing you find out you lost it before reinstalling windows!
 
kid lost the book? tell him to buy a new copy of the game. make him learn hard.
 
Ok, thanks i will take a look. soryy i did not reply sooner, I have had my hands full . My house is nearing completion. Ihave never done an HD image before, if i ghost her that would work too?
 
Ok I went into the registery and found the locaton but there is a number with an infinite amount of characters in it.How do i boil it down to something i can use?
 
By googling a bit I found out that since patch 1.03 the cd-key gets encrypted in the registry and will only work with your windows account (check post #55 in this thread).

Maybe if you go back to a restore point (of windows) before you patch to 1.03 it would change back the registry. I don't know if this would work though...
