NEED HELP

i just finished building my computer, when i started it up i heard one beep(does not repeat). what does that mean??!?
i need clarifying.

Have you checked your motherboard manual? They typically list the beep codes.

I second that. A beep is perfectly normal, unless your PC isn't booting or something.

I have a question. If the ATX connector isn't seated properly, then how would the board get power to make the long beep?

Depending on what Bios you have, I'm pretty sure that one long continus beep is a memory error, try to make sure your ram is seated properly.

Worked for me when mine did it.

I donno, a long continous beep in my pc means that the graphics card is either not seated in or it is not working.

Try removing it and then boot from the onboard one.

I wouldn't worry about the beep until you are completely out of ideas.

If your computer won't even post then check:

1. Memory seated
2. CPU seated properly
3. Video card seated
4. Vital connections such as ATX connector, power to video card if necessary

If your computer won't post, something's wrong with the cpu/video/memory/motherboard most likely, so if you still can't get it to work try swapping parts with parts you know that work (memory, cpu)

actually I need some more information about your post, does it boot? or does the screen just stay black? Are you worried about the beep, or does it not work?

hook up ur speaker and let the nice lady tell you whats wrong.
