I currently have a 7900gtx pci express 1.0 card.I want to upgrade to a better card.Will my 1.0 Mb support a 3.0 card and what would be a good card in 100 to 150 range that will outshine the 7900gtx.

My power supply is 850watt,8gigs ram,asus p5n-e sli mobo.
I tried a EVGA GTX650Ti but could not get it to work correctly on Win 8.
