Need help with upgrade

My current rig is as follows:

MB: MSI 890FXA-GD70
CPU: Phenom2 955
RAM: 4GB G.Skill DDR3 1600
HDD: F3 500GB
GPU: XFX 5870
PSU: Antec New TP-750 Blue
Display: 1080p ASUS 24"

I have around 300-400 for an upgrade. I was looking into getting another 5870 to crossfire and an aftermarket cooler for some overclocking. Not really sure if my current PSU could handle another 5870 and if it would be worth the upgrade. Looking for some advise on how to spend my money on upgrades. Lots of eye candy with good frame rates is important to me.

Your current PSU will be fine.

I recommend this HSF:
$30 - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus HSF for LGA 1366 and LGA 1156

As for the GPU upgrade, I highly recommend that you read up on HD 5870 Crossfire scaling.

What clock speed you think I can hit with that cooler? Would I be better off selling my 5870 and picking up a GTX 570?

Whatever the average OC is on the Phenom II 955.

No. The 570 isn't that much faster than the 5870 to justify the costs of a swap.

Just ordered the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus off newegg. Didn't realize the 5870 scaled so bad. Do you think future drivers will address the issue?
