just got a thinkpad600 laptop and it has 98(dunno if its se or not)

anyways, it has a legit key but it doesn't have a sticker so where do I go into the registry to find it? its been forever and I forgot:/

also bought this Dell 802.11b wireless card. It is model# 4800LT, by Aironet

need help finding drivers for win 98(might be SE, dunno) so i can get it working tonight, ive tried google but its just giving me faq's.




i suck at the intraweb:/

For the wireless card, go to the manufacturers website. They should have the drivers listed there for download.

As far as a Win 98 license key (I'll trust you when you say you have a legit copy), the keys are generic. Find someone else who owns a copy of 98 and get it from them.

There are sites on the Internet that list what you are looking for. I won't direct you to them as they are not really dedicated to honest people like the ones the frequent these forums. ;)

well the maker is aironet, i googled for them and didnt see a website for them?

thats fine about the key, i just got the thing in last night. bought it off the AT forums. im not lying but it doesnt really matter i guess :confused:
 
enter all "7's" and it should work. 98 was based off a 7-divisor hash, IIRC, so...that should work. If not, then it was 95 (LOL)

as far as the Cisco Aironet card is concerned....it sounds like it's older?

i dont NEED A KEY. 98 came installed on it and when i format, i wanna know the key since it doesnt have a sticker, it is reg. with microsoft so its legit, i just need to have it handy when i format it soon...
 
Like I said, windows 98 keys are generic, you find one and that is the key that you have already. Sort of a one key fits all...

OR:

In Windows 98 and ME, navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion and look for an entry called "ProductKey"
 
i fill in all their bullshit pages and submit, tell sme my cookies arent enabled. they are set to recieve any and all cookies.


i hate sites like that.
