i have a 8800gts g92 and on idle i get about 72 C and 29% fan speed. i know about the auto fan adjustments with rivatuner but don't want to use it anymore because windows keeps blocking it from starting up when i log in. is 72 c a good temperature for idle. and whenever i edit the fan speed in nvidia's control panel, the settings go back whenever i restart it. will nvidia fix this on the next version

GREAT guide to flash that bios and set your fan speeds to a lot better profile. 72c idle is pretty warm...with the bios flash, my idle temps sit at 57-59c, and load never breaks 81c......and it's not loud at all since the fan never goes past 60%, and rarely that even.

but im just afraid to risk my video card and void the warranty though. should i just disable UAC. after disabling UAC, the rivatuner wasn't blocked anymore

what software are you using to measure your gpu temps. nvidia monitor i would have to believe to be inaccurate because they show very low temps for my cpu (40 when core temp shows 52)
