thats the space i'm working with. can a 12mm fan fit in there? i dont' think it can.

or should i just get this heatsink?

that should definitely fit with a fan

or should i just get the sugo sg05 with the 450 watt psu? can i still fit the coolermaster gemini II in there?

Why do you want a fan? Mine works well with the exact same setup. Passive GeminII for the win.

You could mount an 80 mm fan on the underside blowing upwards to help to remove air faster.

Also for the chipset, you should mount an 80mm fan on top of it if you're getting random reboots. All of that works with the geminII

i'm getting shut downs. so i think its over heating. i'm running seti on the Q9450 ;)

The SG05 with 450W psu is only available in Japan. It's the exact same case except the interior is black and the upgraded psu.

An AXP-140 with a 20mm thick 120mm fan will fit but it will be touching the psu.

will one of those scythe 12mm fans do then? and 2000 rpm, 45cfm? for a Q9450? will that be enough cooling? its got to be better than a passively cooled Q9450

No the AXP-140 doesn't come with any fans. 120x12cm fans will fit but they have really low airflow and static pressure and won't do much to help with cooling. Personally, I'd go with something like the Corsair H50.

Shut downs are likely chipset overheating on that motherboard, trust me on that, my DAW is a similar setup. you don't need to swap the geminII you need to add active cooling to the chipset.

PSU should be fine for your setup and the GeminII should be able to cool the Q9450 fine

ok i have a 40mm fan i can use that has a 3 pin plug. i'll try that. have to open it up to mount it. what a pain lol

my cpu temps without fans are hitting mid 80's. the ac is out :(. thats Celsius

ps the onboard video is off. i'm using a 4650 that is cooled by a small fan.

I don't see where the radiator would fit inside the case though, unless the OP considers mounting it externally.

Are you talking about the build with the Zotac Mobo?

Q9450 machine 3 @ 2.7ghz,Sapphire 4650, Zotac MiniITX 9300, 4GB Corsair DDR2-800, 300 watt micro PSU, 750gb seagate, Hueco Mundo

If so, see if the CPU heatsink is hitting the northbridge heatsink. The stock Intel heatsink for my E6300 has small plastic wire management clips on the sides, and these clips would push against the chipset heatsink. The Chipset heatsink then lifted up off of the chipset, which would idle at 75c, and randomly reboot under load. I had to file the little plastic clips off of the Intel heatsink, and now the two heatsinks don't touch. Everything's stable now, and the chipset is down to 40c or so.

That's way too high. You're still using a 120 in the front intake, right? Make sure your cable routing is clean and allows some aiflow. Otherwise your heatsink might not be mounted correctly.
