I have a chance to sell my intel 80gb ssd and upgrade. I have a new mobo with sata3. What is the best drive going? My mobo is an Asus Rampage Gene 3. Need at least a 120 GB drive and don't want to spend more than $300

There's an Intel rebate going for their SSD's here. You could use that toward a 120 or 160 GB Intel SSD. Though you'd have to pull the trigger on that rebate by January 1.

Another option would be a 300 GB WD Raptor drive.
 
Intel is still one of the best brands around, especially if you're concerned about reliability. The good news for you is that the 120GB X25-M (G2, natch) has dropped down to under $250 at a few retailers.

The VelociRaptor, in my opinion, would be a step backwards compared to the 80GB X25-M.
