need help with some IE7 issues

I have IE7 and FF2 installed on winxp sp2. after installing IE7 i have a serious bug... when in IE7, if i go to the "internet tools" from the menu it closes IE7! I also cannot get to the control panel. if i click on CP on start menu it closes my "explorer.exe" and reloads it, but never opens the CP.

anyone else having this issue? please help.
