I know everyone is hot and bothered with the new cards out but I need some help with my "old" stuff, if someone is willing.
I have 2 8800GTX's that where in SLI. Now both cards show up, I see "4" monitors but they are not in SLI. I have tested both cards, both slots and both sets of power connections and everything works from every angle except SLI.
When I go to enable SLI, it now says that I have to have it in slot with a bandwidth of x4 or greater? Can the bridge go bad?
SLI was working a month ago and had been working since I built the machine in January.

My rig details are

Striker Extreme (piece of Shiznit)
Q6600
4gb corsair dominator
2 8800GTX's
sound blaster xfi pro
All newest drivers and updates.

Please help me get my SLI back.

Try GPU-z to see what it lists your Bus Interface speed as.
You sure a BIOS setting didn't get reverted to stock PCI instead of PCI-E adapter?

Bus interface is PCI-E x16 @ x16
and Bios is 1504, which is the newest.
Cant figure it out?

At least it's showing the correct bus speed.
I'd try uninstalling the video driver and reinstalling.

Sorry I'm stumpted. You tried switching the top card with the bottom?
Asus's forums suck, but have you checked for any related posts about the problem there?
I'd also try registering @ SLIZone's forum. Maybe someone has suffered the same problem and found a cure.
Sorry not much help. :(

Yep, tried switching the cards with no luck. Signed up for SLIZone and will see if they have any thoughts. Thanks

you havent mentioned wether or not you reset the cmos on the motherboard. that always worked wonders on my old p5n-e, this is most likely irrelevant but my top pci-e slot went bad when i had 7600 in sli

OK.
You have the Striker Extreme 680i board, correct??
You don't need to change something in the BIOS to enable SLi, correct?
You put the two cards in the Blue slots? correct.
SO......
if that's all good.....
you said you reloaded the drivers and that device manager is recognizing both cards.

What I would do.......
take the cards out.
remove drivers
driver cleaner X 3.
put one card in the master slot
reinstall drivers
replace the slave card
install bridge
You should get the SLI recognized message and be good to go.
Ive had to do this before.
