Im about to return my monitor ......I have these curved lines on the sides ....... I realllly hate it .. is that only me ??? the lines are see true

looks like it's a refurb.

the previous owner hated computers so much they tried to strangle the monitor. heh.
 
You are experiencing the Moire effect common with most shadow-mask monitors. My experience with that monitor is to try and adjust the moire settings in the on-screen menu of your monitor. A setting of 50 seems to do the trick.
 
nope the monitor was new from new egg .. i will try to return it and get a new one
 
Could be moire... Look through the monitor's menus and see if there's an adjustment. Also, try changing video modes. I had a 17" once that only had a moire problem in 1152x864.
 
I have 2 of those monitors and don't have any prooblem like you are having.
I bought both of mine locally since NewEgg sold them for the same price, $199 but I'd rather pay tax ($9) than $25 shipping. circuit City and Best Buy has them.
