Need help with ram heat spreaders

ok, I want to order some of those ram heat spreaders, http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=35-116-002&DEPA=0 but I don't need the heatsinks that come with them . I have a 9800 pro, which to my understanding already has heatsinks on it. I want to use 1 pair per stick of ram (I have 2 512mb sticks) so I will have to order two sets. that will give me 4 unused heatsinks!

1. Will I have enough room between the two sticks to wrap both of them?

2. Does anyone know where I can get just the spreaders without the heat sinks? they need to be anodized blue.

I found a different kind of ram spreaders at frozencpu.com, but they were more expensive, and didn't come with the heatsinks. (not that I need the heat sinks, but why pay more for less?)

you should have enough room to for both sticks of ram, but i would measure the clearance between your ram slots just to be sure (it won't be a problem if you're using an atx mobo, i'm not sure about matx though). svc.com has a decent selection of heatspreaders, a couple blue too. here a link:

I have NEVER had an exp where I needed that much cooling on my memory. If youare worried about it...jsut stick a 120mm pointing at your mem.

I've used those ram heat spreaders before, they look pretty decent. Becareful to line them up with the notches on the side of the RAM tho, otherwise you might cover up a portion of the notch and cause the RAM to not able to be properly seated in the mobo.

I have some copper ones on my ram on my mATX and the clearance is fine.

Depends on what look you want with the blue:

Thermaltake RAM sinks though may have a clearance issue.

3M spreaders though I don't know if those are anodized or not, but they look it to me.

You can buy blue heatspreaders on Ebay all the time for like $1 each. Just search heatspreader and you'll get tons of auctions in all the colors you could want.

Wow thanks for all the help! I actually don't want them for cooling. I will be painting the inside of my new case blue and thought that would be a nice accent!

BTW, the 9800 Pro doesn't have ram sinks on it. You might want to get a blue videocard as well

Yeah, forgot to mention that unless your specific card came with ramsinks then the 9800pro doesn't. At least my Saphire 9800pro didn't. I put the blue Zalman ones on it.

Sinks are not need...unlewss youare hard on te vdmm and are oc'in g the shit out of you r mem...then mayBEE. Trustme,,a fan will do anytihing a mem cooler can

They are if you are color cordinating.

Also, I wonder if you can paint the entire mobo, video, sound, and HS all the same color with this? I know I have seen people paint the mobo and video card with UV paint, so would the stuff I linked to work? It would be neat I think.
