System 1:

i5 2400 (not gonna overclock)
Asus P8p67m
Nvidia 9600GT
one DVD super multi
two HD (probably one SSD one IDE HD)
G skill 8GB DDR3 1600

would like just little over min requirment

System 2:

I5-2500k (will overclock)
Asus Saber tooth p67
G skill 8GB DDR3 1000 (might get 16GB after 6 month or so)
ATI 6970/90
One DVD super multi/blu-ray burner
one SSD
two WD black in raid or 160GB seagate 7200RPM
one WD 3TB (can be voided if i save over $25 on one step down PSU)

probably get gold/platinum lvl PSU

neither of the system will be running 24/7

For system 1, anything in the 400-500 watt range would be enough. I would recommend the 430CX for that build, it often goes below $20 AR.

For system 2, one hard drive is not going to make a difference when selecting a power supply. 10 hard drives... maybe, just maybe, but one, no.
Do you plan to at any time to get two HD6990's?
Do you plan to use the OC function on the 6990?
For single 6970: 600-650 watt level power supply.
For double 6970/single 6990: 750 watt level power supply.
For double 6990 not overclocked: 1000 watt power supply.
For double 6990 overclocked: 1200 watt power supply.

thanks, in any case single card, if ii feel the need for second card, the system is gonna find it self on FS thread but i never had crossfire, so i'll go with that since 2x6970 is almost same as 6990 with almost 30% off and i've month so price might go down more.

For the first system, any good 350W will do the job. I love Antec EA380's for light load systems like that. Highly stable, reliable and quiet for a decent price, just Newegg only sells the Green's anymore. Maybe looking around on Ebay for something like an EA380, EA430, SeaSonic 300ES/350ES would be best, all 4 of those power supplies are great (and Antec's EA380/430 uses the same psu layout as the ES's).

As for the second system, a quality 550W would do the job, but you can get a Corsair HX620 for cheap enough.
