Guys, need some help here. I dont really have much experience with Intel overclocking, been with AMD before, and this also my first DFI board so there has been some confusion. Anyway, i read through the ocing guide in this forum and been trying to overclock my e8600. Right now i'm just trying to concetrate on the CPU and deal with the memory after i sort that out. I haven't touched the advanced settings in the BIOS and so far got the CPU to 4.1 GHz, its stable tested with Prime and Intel Burn Test. This what i got so far:

FSB 410
Multi x10
CPU vcore 1.3v
NB vcore 1.330v
CPU VTT 1.320v
RAM 2.1v
Vcore Droop Control- Enabled
load temps around 48-50C (nice winter temps :))

I don't know if these voltages are what they should be, CPU vcore seems high to me, i had to increase it a great deal every time i bumped up FSB by 10, especially towards the end. So I havent tried going past 4.1 Ghz yet as i suspect it will need much more voltage. Does this look ok to you guys? Id appreciate any advice.

Everything is within spec and your temps are fine. Your chip is rated to 1.3625V. As long as you keep it in spec and temps are fine you should be able to push it a little more. There are a few advanced settings you may want to tweak to squeeze every last bit out of your CPU, but if you aren't going for max overclock you can probably just adjust the settings you have and be content.

thnx for the response!

Yea, i am going for the max possible 24/7 overclock here, i dont mind doing some overvolting to get there. I know the chip is rated at 1.3625v but i still wanted to find out what are the unofficial max safe vcores for CPU, NB, VTT & Sb/PLL? I read that some people had their chips at 1.4v and NB at 1.5v or more. From what i understand there is a diference between the required voltages between the X48 and P45 chipsets, the latter can get away with less volts than the X48. I only found this out after i got this board, kinda wish i would've gone for the P45 DK one instead :)

Your VTT is VERY high for such a low OC (*for e8600 standards haha). My VTT was at 1.15 for my e8400 when I took it to 4Ghz (9x445). You're at a lower FSB so you should be able to get away with a lot less.

thnx for pointing that out. I will try to lower and see what happens. I did this overclock several months ago and just saved it. I remember having to adjust one setting at a time to get stability. What board did you use, btw?

DFI LT P35 - which is basically the UT P35 w/o the transpiper hanging out the back haha.
